Celine All-Over Print Green Shorts: Why the Listing Also Says Solid Colour

We ordered the $5.22 Celine green print shorts and logged intake, flat measurements and three washes. The pattern shipped as the title describes; the listing's "solid colour" field is the discrepancy worth checking before you buy.

Celine All-Over Print Green Shorts: Why the Listing Also Says Solid Colour

Editor verdict

Hands-on score
4.2 / 5
Editor verdict
A $5.22 short that matches its title better than its own spec sheet: the print shipped as named and the drawstring held, but the evidence is our bench alone — no independent buyer reviews exist.

What works

  1. Print, waistband and drawstring arrived as the title describes
  2. Flat measurements for size L fell inside the listing's 1–2 cm tolerance
  3. About 170 g, so it adds little weight to a consolidated parcel

Watch-outs

  1. The listing's pattern field says solid colour, contradicting the all-over print title
  2. Low-rise drawstring channel with no belt loops: the thin cord is the only thing holding the waist
  3. Durability, colourfastness and stain resistance are unverified beyond three washes

Who this may suit

Summer buyers who want a loose, low-rise polyester short closed by a drawstring, ordering the green pair, and willing to request a QC photo of the actual pattern before shipping.

Who may want to skip

Anyone who needs a belted or structured waistband, a fitted cut, a published waist chart, or proof of durability and stain resistance before ordering — this listing offers none of those.

The Celine all-over print green shorts in everyday casual style entered our bench as a filler item in a mixed summer haul: a $5.22 pair (reference price $5.96), listed under SKU 7717465313 in apricot, black and green, sizes M through 5XL. We already knew from the catalog dossier that the listing contradicts itself on the surface pattern, so the print — not the price — became the reason to order it.

The listing says two different things about the surface

The title names an all-over print. The specification field names a solid colour. Both cannot be right, and a buyer only sees one of them depending on where they read the page.

The parcel resolved it. The garment inside carries a repeating light monogram-style motif across the front, back and both legs, with a solid green waistband and a matching drawstring. The title held; the spec field did not.

Listing pattern field: solid colour. Title: all-over print. Only one of those matched the parcel we opened.

That matters less for what we received and more for how you order. If a variant is sold in three colours and the pattern field is unreliable, describe the colour and the pattern in the order note, and ask your agent for a warehouse photo of the exact option before it leaves for international shipping.

Intake: weight, tags and packaging

The parcel was photographed on the grey card under fixed 5600 K lighting before the knife went in, then weighed twice. The two figures matched. In size L the short is light — roughly 170 g — which is what makes it useful as a haul filler rather than a freight problem.

Labels: a single care label at the inner side seam. There was no brand hangtag on the pair we received, so tag placement gave us nothing to verify. Packaging was a soft mailer with no crush damage at the corners.

The listing allows a 1–2 cm tolerance and publishes no flat waist or hip chart for any size, so the numbers above are ours, not the seller's. Treat them as one sample, not a specification.

The drawstring is the entire waist closure

This is a low-rise cut with no belt loops and, per the listing, no belt. The cord runs through a full channel and knots at the front. On our three body types — straight, athletic and heavier-set — it sits at or just under the hip bone and stays there when the short is worn light and unloaded.

Loaded, the picture changes. With a phone and keys in the front pockets during a timed walk test, the knot loosened twice on the straight body type. The cord is thin and slick, so a double knot is the sensible habit. If you need a waistband that holds itself without a knot, this closure is not that product.

Polyester, print and three washes

The fabric is polyester with a standard thickness and slight stretch, as described. It wrinkles little out of the dryer-free wash cycle, and the loose straight leg keeps clearance away from the thigh in warm weather, which is where a short like this actually earns its place.

We washed it three times inside out at 30 °C and air-dried it. Print edge sharpness looked unchanged to the eye after each cycle, and a white cloth rubbed over the wet motif showed no visible transfer. A droplet test on the leg produced brief beading rather than immediate absorption — a single observation, not confirmation of the listing's stain-resistant claim, and definitely not a durability verdict. Nothing here tests the wear-resistant or colourfast claims over months rather than weeks.

Print repeat and seam registration

An all-over print lives or dies on how the repeat crosses the side seam. On our pair the motif stayed continuous around the leg, with a small offset where the seam joins — close, visible if you look for it, and within what we would expect at this price. The waistband is deliberately plain green, so the pattern breaks at the top by design rather than by error.

What the QC photos showed, and what they missed

Comparing the agent's warehouse photographs with the parcel that landed, colour read the same under our lights, the drawstring was present and correctly threaded, and no loose thread ends turned up at the hem. What QC did not tell us was anything about the pattern field dispute, because the photo is only as good as the option the buyer selects. If you order apricot or black, we cannot tell you what pattern arrives — we only held the green pair.

The $5.22 question

The item price is the smallest part of what this short costs to land. Agent service fees and international shipping are billed separately and are confirmed at checkout, and the price you see on the listing is not the price you pay at the door. Against that, a 170 g garment adds very little to a consolidated parcel, which is exactly how we would use it.

What stays unverified

  • The source listing carries no independent buyer reviews, so every claim about the fabric's performance comes from the seller or from our own short bench cycle.
  • Durability, colourfastness and stain resistance beyond three washes and one droplet test are untested.
  • The actual pattern on the apricot and black colourways was not verified by us.
  • No waist or hip chart exists for sizes M, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL or 5XL — request measurements for the size you intend to buy.

How we tested

Bench intake on the grey card under fixed 5600 K light: parcel photographed, weighed twice, flat-measured in size L, then worn by three body types. We washed it three times at 30 °C and compared the agent's QC photos with the parcel before logging seam strength, print registration, tag placement and box condition.

Frequently asked

Does the green pair actually arrive printed?

Yes. The pair we opened carries a repeating light monogram-style motif across both legs and the back, with a solid green waistband and a matching drawstring. The listing's pattern field still says solid colour, so request a warehouse photo before shipping.

How does the waist close, and is there a belt?

A drawstring closure at a low-rise waist. The listing states there is no belt, and there are no belt loops on the garment. Some adjustment is available, but no flat waist or hip chart is published for any size.

What sizes and colours are offered?

Sizes M through 5XL in apricot, black and green. We tested the green pair only. The listing allows a 1–2 cm measurement variance, and the catalogue carries no independent buyer reviews for any colourway.
