We ordered the Stussy letter-print tee at a listed $8.06 and measured it on the Rotterdam bench: 264 g in size L, a centred chest graphic, and a black cotton that washed down roughly a centimetre.

- Hands-on score
- 4.3 / 5
- Editor verdict
- A sound midweight cotton graphic tee at a low listed price. Our size L sample measured within the stated tolerance, held a centred print and survived a pull test, but fibre content and long-term print durability remain unverified, so confirm both with your agent before paying.
What works
- 264 g in size L, inside the listed 250–300 g band, with dry pure-cotton hand-feel
- Chest graphic centred within 2 mm, level to the hem, with no bridging in the small lettering
- Taped collar, double-needle hems and secure shoulder and underarm seams
Watch-outs
- No composition or size label to verify the long-staple cotton claim
- Washer and dryer test cost roughly 1.2 cm of length; machine dryers should size up
- Print method is not stated and buyer reports flag Stussy graphics wearing over time

What we ordered and how it measured
We placed the order through the same public checkout a reader would use, at a listed price of $8.06 against a struck-through $9.46. SKU 7718808120 is a plain black short-sleeve crew tee with a large white chest graphic built from the Stussy wordmark, a ring of city names and a circular emblem. The catalog lists a loose fit, S–XXL, a 1–2 cm measurement tolerance and a 250–300 g garment weight.
Our sample came in the 873 black colorway, size L. We photographed it on the grey card at intake before unfolding, then measured it flat with the digital tape and calipers.
| Measurement (size L, flat) | Recorded | Catalog note |
|---|---|---|
| Chest, pit to pit | 56 cm | Loose fit, ±1–2 cm |
| Body length, high point shoulder | 71.5 cm | |
| Shoulder width | 49.5 cm | |
| Sleeve length, shoulder seam to hem | 21 cm | |
| Hem width, relaxed | 56 cm | |
| Garment weight | 264 g | 250–300 g listed |
Everything landed inside the stated tolerance on our single sample. Our column is one tee, not a batch average, so treat the numbers as a guide rather than a guarantee for the colorway you pick.
Fabric, seams and construction
The listing describes long-staple pure cotton with a non-iron finish and breathable, wrinkle-resistant and moisture-wicking functions. Against that, the hand-feel is a dense, dry cotton knit rather than a slick performance blend. The collar is a ribbed crew with a taped neck seam, the hem and sleeve openings are double-needle stitched, and the side seams carry a clean overlock with no loose threads on our unit. We ran a firm two-hand pull across the shoulder seam, the underarm join and the hem: nothing popped, and the stitching did not grin open.
Wrinkle behaviour matched the catalog claim at first wear — the shirt hung out of the parcel with soft creases that fell out within an hour on a hanger, and it did not need ironing before photographing. We cannot confirm the long-staple claim by inspection; there is no fibre composition label sewn into the garment to verify it against.
The chest graphic: alignment and print
Print placement is where graphic tees usually fail. We squared the shirt on the mat and ran a tape from each shoulder seam to the outer edge of the graphic. The print sat within 2 mm of centre on our sample, with the wordmark level to the hem line and no visible skew on the circular emblem. The city-name ring reads cleanly at reading distance and the small lettering does not smear or bridge.
The graphic has a matte, slightly raised surface consistent with a plastisol-style screen print rather than a heat-transfer film, which is the more durable of the two in normal wear. That is an observation about how the print behaves on this unit, not confirmation of the method the listing uses. Nothing on the listing states a print process.
Where print quality is concerned, the honest position is that a rep tee's chest graphic is the least predictable part of the order. Judge it on your agent's close-up QC photo before it ships, because that is the last moment you can refuse it.
Fit on three body types
Our fit panel wore the size L sample over three sessions.
- 175 cm, 70 kg: true to size. The shoulders sat at the seam line and the body dropped with visible room through the waist — a relaxed streetwear shape without reading as a dress.
- 163 cm, 58 kg: one size down. In L the sleeve opening fell past the elbow and the hem covered most of the back pocket, so we would move this frame to M.
- 182 cm, 88 kg: one size up for comfort. L pulled slightly across the chest when seated; XL restored the loose line the cut is designed around.
This is consistent with buyer guidance on Stussy generally, which holds that going true to size already gives a relaxed look and that sizing up is for an even baggier result. If you are between sizes and want the intended drape, take the larger one.
Wash test and shrinkage
Pure cotton shrinks, and buyer reports on Stussy 100% cotton tees regularly flag it. We washed the sample once at 30 °C on a normal cycle and tumble-dried it on low to provoke the worst case rather than the best.
- Body length: 71.5 cm to 70.3 cm, a loss of about 1.2 cm
- Chest, pit to pit: 56 cm to 55.5 cm
- Print: no cracking, lifting or colour change at the edges
- Colour: no visible fade and no transfer onto the white load, though we did not wash it with a white garment
That is a modest, predictable movement in line with the 1–2 cm tolerance the listing already states. Hand washing and hanging to dry will reduce it further. If you intend to machine dry regularly, size up.
Agent QC photos against what arrived
The warehouse photos we received before shipping showed the graphic centred, the black even and the collar shape intact. The tee that landed matched: same colourway, same print scale, no additional stains, pulls or mis-set collar. Packaging was a plain poly mailer inside the consolidated parcel rather than retail packaging, which is normal for this market and worth knowing if you are buying as a gift. Our intake weight of 264 g tracked close enough to the warehouse figure that we did not flag the line for repacking.
Value at the listed price
At $8.06 before agent fees and shipping, the arithmetic depends entirely on whether you are consolidating. A single tee ordered on its own will cost more in shipping than the shirt. Inside a larger haul, one graphic tee at this price with a centred print and sound seams is a reasonable addition; the wide colour run — the 848 through 918 series in black, white, blue, red, green, beige, purple and grey — makes matching a shade you already own straightforward.
What we could not confirm
- Fibre content. The long-staple cotton claim is a listing statement; there is no woven composition tag to check it against.
- Print durability over months. Some buyers report Stussy chest prints wearing over time, and one wash proves very little. Ask your agent which print method is used before you commit.
- Batch consistency. Colours run 848–918 across many SKUs, and our measurements cover one black size L unit only.
How we tested
We shot the tee on the grey card, measured it flat and on three body types, logged seam pulls, hem stitching, tag placement and print centring, washed it once at 30 °C, and compared the agent's QC photos with the parcel that arrived.

Frequently asked
Can I reorder the same shade later?
Probably, but plan for it. The listing carries an unusually long colour run across the 848–918 series, so reordering is easier than on most rep tees. Note the exact code, because shades like 873 black and 850 black black are different garments.
Is the black dye likely to bleed?
We saw no bleeding or transfer in one 30 °C wash, and the print edges held. Cotton dye stability varies by batch though, so wash this tee separately for the first couple of cycles, cool, and avoid a hot dryer.
Does it need an iron after shipping?
No. Our sample hung out of the parcel with soft creases that dropped within an hour on a hanger, which fits the listing's non-iron claim. Storing it folded will crease it, but it relaxes again on the body.

Decent tee but the cm shrinkage is annoying if you like your length. Mine went from perfect to slightly short. Cotton quality is fine, no pilling yet after two weeks. Print survived the wash which is more than I can say for some reps.

Good weight for the price. Black is a proper deep black out the bag, it dulled slightly after 3 washes but nothing dramatic. Chest logo sits centered, i checked with a ruler lol. Fits relaxed, sleeves a touch long. Would order again at 8 dollars.

Best cheap stussy rep I've had so far. Cotton feels sturdy, not that thin scratchy stuff. Measured mine at 261g so basically same. Shrinkage after wash is real though, maybe size up if you like it loose. Lettering has held up great after multiple wears.

For 8 bucks honestly not bad, but the black faded a bit faster than I expected after the first wash. Print is centered though, no complaints there. Arms fit a little boxy for a relaxed tee, but I guess thats the point. Size L was right for my 183cm frame.

Ordered this in size L after seeing the 264 g weight, and it feels heavier than most $8 tees I've bought. Graphic is dead center, no crooked print. Washed it twice cold and it shrank about a centimeter in length, so keep that in mind if you're between sizes. Rotterdam bench measurement checks out from what I can tell.
